Chung KI WA Tofu Restaurant 5238 Beach Blvd, Buena Park, CA Phone: (714) 562-8989 Everybody knows how spicy and fiery is Korean food. But the hot-n-spicy tofu, this is unusual. Chung KI WA Tofu Korean restaurant serves especially spicy tofu stews. Thai Classic 3332 N Clark St Chicago IL The authentic Thai cuisine. Decor is sparse, with salmon-colored walls adorned with Asian hangings, an unfinished wood ceiling and lighting that's just a bit too bright. Thai Spice justifies slightly higher prices with sheer quantity (entrees can easily feed two) and fresh-made taste. Crispy, creamy crab puffs are among the starters, served with vinegary-sweet sauce. Pad thai is bountiful with sprouts, peanuts and onion. Like spicy? Panang beef is sauteed in red curry sauce and served with sliced jalapenos. I'm generally of the mindset that "All-American food" isn't worth eating, but a place like this can change my mind. An hour later I can still taste the smokiness of my chicken and the hot, garlicky BBQ sauce and habanero vinegar they put out among many condiments. It's not perfect BBQ, but it's good. |
